I step outside my home tonight
Into the sparkling winter’s light.
The sky is clear, the stars are out,
The moon casts shadows all about.
The wind has ceased its deafening roar.
I hear ice grind along the shore.
Tonight, the snow’s too deep to roam,
There is no way to leave my home.
I think of you so far away
But I must stay here in the Bay.
Yet, I take comfort knowing you
Are gazing at this full moon, too.
I know that when I look above,
I share this moon with you, my love.
And although we may be miles apart,
I hold you here within my heart.
Yes, the storm has passed, and the snow is deep,
And when I lay me down to sleep,
I’ll shelter you safely in my dreams,
As through my window moonlight streams.
