My favourite Christmas memory was from 2022 when two Ukrainians, who were new to Canada, showed up at our house by surprise to decorate the Christmas tree with my mom and I.
We laughed and had fun all evening. It was their first Christmas in Canada. They had lived with us the summer before when they had fled Ukraine.
They have become part of my family.
Decorating the Christmas tree that day is my favourite Christmas memory ever. I’m so lucky to have them as part of my family even if it was because of a war.
